For five lucky winners at Dicks Sporting Goods in Minnetonka on Saturday, they not only met the Minnesota Twins first baseman, but got his advice in picking out colors for their new Reebok shirts, shorts, and sneaks!
Who knew Justin Morneau would be as adept at grabbing a size 9 ½ shoe from the shelf, as he is digging an errant throw out of the dirt? The contest details included a scavenger hunt of sorts where the first five people to find Reebok sales rep Lauren hidden somewhere in the store on Saturday morning won the shopping spree. Despite one toddler unaware of the contest getting scared by Lauren in a tent, the winners were quickly chosen. And none other than Twins infielder Alexi Casilla was also seen shopping bright and early. (No truth to the rumor that he wanted in on the contest)
Justin enjoyed meeting his fans, signing hats, shoes, and even brand new Reebok shoe boxes for the winners. Plus, he made sure to chat up his dream Stanley Cup matchup between the Vancouver Canucks and Boston Bruins with one winner in a Made in Canada t-shirt.
Thanks to everyone who entered-it was fun to see the excited faces of the winners, and even more fun to watch the surprised shoppers seeing the towering All-Star pointing out which shoes they should try on.
