Justin Morneau collected his 1,000th career hit today.  Justin’s milestone hit was an infield single off of Oakland A’s pitcher Brett Anderson in the bottom of the first inning.

Morneau is just 1 of 8 Twins with 1,000 hits, 200 doubles and 500 career RBI.  He joins Harmon Killebrew, Rod Carew, Tony Oliva, Kent Hrbek, Kirby Puckett, Gary Gaetti, and Torii Hunter in the exclusive club.

Morneau Returns to the Field

40 Cuts

Justin Morneau took the field for the first time in months when he joined his Twins teammates at Spring Training this morning.  Morneau took 40 swings (hitting 5 balls out of the park),took grounders and worked on turning double plays.

Krista and Justin Morneau welcomed a new member to their family today.  Daughter Evelyn was born early this morning.  She checked in at 7lbs 2 ounces and measured 20 inches long (15 inches shorter but considerably heavier than Justin’s BWP model bat).

Seven years ago today (6/10/03) Justin Morneau made his Major League Debut against the Colorado Rockies.

JMo batted cleanup for the Twins and singled in his first Major League at-bat off Rockies pitcher Jason Jennings.  Morneau accounted for 2 of the Twins 3 hits in the game.

Justin has gone on to collect 965 hits, 176 home runs, and 664 RBI.
