I’m 50! (14, actually)

Justin Morneau was named among the Top 50 players currently playing in MLB.  Morneau was ranked 14th in The Sporting News survey.

The list was selected by a panel of 100 Hall of Famers, major award winners and other baseball personalities.

Albert Pujols topped the list.  JMo’s Minnesota Twins teammate Joe Mauer ranked 39th.

Reebok pink cleat auction results

Spike101 was the high bidder for the Justin Morneau Mother’s Day spikes on Reebok’s auction page.  The black spikes with pink trim sold for $700.  Here’s the results for all of shoes in the auction:

Stuff the ballot box(es)

Fans have the chance to help elect Justin Morneau to two prestigious teams:  the 2009 All Star Team and the Twins All-Metrodome Team.

The Twins are currently accepting fan votes for the All-Metrodome team.  Morneau, Kent Hrbek, Ron Coomer, Gene Larkin and Doug Mientkiewicz are on the ballot at 1st base.  The voting figures to come down to Hrbek and JMo in what should be one of the closest votes .  Click HERE to cast your votes (you can vote up to 25 times).
