Winter Warm-Up Coat Drive

November 7th, 2012

The Minnesota Twins, along with Delaware North Companies Sportservice and the Minnesota Chapter of Disabled American Veterans, today announced plans for the Winter Warm-Up Coat Drive to take place Thursday, Nov. 1 through Friday, Nov. 30 at Twins Pro Shop locations and the Twins Majestic Clubhouse Store. The coat drive provides an opportunity for fans to join the holiday giving efforts of the Minnesota Twins by donating new or gently used coats for local disabled veterans and their families. Donated coats will be distributed to veterans and their families, or be sold in the Disabled American Veterans thrift stores to benefit disabled vets.

Fans who donate will receive 20 percent off* eligible purchases at the Twins Pro Shops located in Minnetonka, Apple Valley and Roseville and the Twins Majestic Clubhouse store located at Target Field.

Disabled American Veterans (DAV) is made up exclusively of men and women disabled in our nation’s defense, and is dedicated to one, single purpose: building better lives for the nation’s disabled veterans and their families.

Coats can also be dropped off at the DAV Donation Center in Maplewood (www.davmn.org), however, discounts will only be given for coats donated at Twins’ team stores.

Veteran’s Housing Dedication

September 12th, 2012

The Salvation Army Harbor Light Center dedicated one of their veteran’s housing buildings in the name of the Morneaus.  The dedication was in honor of the work the Morneaus have done with Harbor Light over the past years.  The building will provide shelter for homeless vets in the Minneapolis area.

200

August 7th, 2012

Justin Morneau became just the fourth Canadian-born player to hit 200 career home runs when he went deep twice in the Twins’ 14-3 victory at Cleveland on Monday, August 6th.

After struggling through injuries in 2010 and 2011 — two concussions, nerve damage in his neck and a weak wrist that required surgery among them — the feat meant more to Morneau than it would have before he missed 81 games in 2010 because of a season-ending concussion.

Join the Morneaus to help flood relief in Minnesota

June 25th, 2012

We have all seen the devastating effects of the flooding in northeast Minnesota. Justin and Krista Morneau have stepped up to offer their help and challenge Twins fans to donate.

The Morneaus will match contributions to flood relief in northeast Minnesota up to $25,000. Contributions will be made to the Twins Wives Organization and then distributed to relief efforts in the affected region.
